I think you're confusing the ajax calls with the calls to the chrome extension code.
One way to view them is on a single page:
There is a script which does ajax calls to get the data on that page. On its own this doesn't look like any of the function calls you have in there. However, when you hit a button, the script changes and the ajax calls a different piece of code and retrieves the data from that instead.

Cystatin C, a stable marker of renal function, has been shown to be an independent predictor of cardiovascular mortality in the general population, but data on essential hypertensive patients are scant. We therefore assessed the prognostic relevance of cystatin C and creatinine in patients with essential hypertension. Baseline measurements of cystatin C, creatinine, and creatinine clearance (CrCl) were obtained in 240 patients with essential hypertension. All patients were prospectively followed-up for at least 5 years. Cox proportional hazards regression models, adjusted for age, sex, and smoking habit, were used to evaluate the prognostic value of cystatin C and creatinine. The study end-point was the combined end-point of cardiovascular mortality and cardiovascular hospitalization. The cohort consisted of 145 (59%) men and 95 (41%) women. During the follow-up period, 65 patients (27%) died, and 77 (32%) underwent cardiovascular hospitalization. Cystatin C and CrCl were significantly associated with both cardiovascular mortality and cardiovascular hospitalization.
